I am from Burlington VT. I am a likely CS major, but I am also thinking about majoring in math. I
like sailing, climbing, aikido, and clarinet. I mainly program in Python, but I enjoy working with
most programming languages except Java.
I worked on the Physics Inventory Database interface. The database tracks the lab equipment and
demonstrations that the Carleton Physics Department have in stock. The default interface that goes
with FileMaker is not very user friendly and I am working to make the process of data entry, searching
and browsing more instinctive and automatic. I am also helping with FileMaker related questions for
the Mazi Archaeological Project. I like to swim and play badminton. I can never do with enough nerdy
jokes and puns, especially physics ones. I just started in the CS and data science area, but I really
love it so far.
I am from New Zealand. As a math major, I enjoy working with data analysis and statistical modeling.
My roles in the DataSquad had involved a range of activities including data restructuring and

I'm an international student from Tokyo, Japan. During my sophomore summer, I worked as an analyst,
running statistical models on restaurant data, at a startup in Tokyo. Experiencing statistical
modeling in the field was a valuable experience, but I want to improve my understanding on machine
learning and advanced statistical models so that I can eventually become a capable data scientist.
Outside of work, I like to take walks and play guitar.
I'm a math major, and AI enthusiast. I was born in Houston, TX, but I've spent my whole life moving
around and currently live outside NYC. I spend a lot of time doing data science in Python and R, but
when I'm not sitting in front of a monitor you can find me doing some carpentry, cooking, sewing, or
training for my next weightlifting meet.
Working with the DataSquad has helped me to become a much more well rounded data scientist. When I
joined the DataSquad I had technical skills, but was serirously lacking in professional ones. Paula
has helped me learn how to interact with clients, maintain a structed workflow, and simply become
someone who can do more than just write some code.
